Overview

The Regional Director of Therapy Operations is responsible for managing all staff at those facilities under his/her direction to ensure consistent delivery of quality rehabilitation services, while maximizing staff efficiency/productivity. The Regional Director provides professional leadership for each rehab team through training and direct support. Assists in clinical program development and implementation. Assures staff adherence to policies and procedures to include professional standards as established by Diversicare Therapy Services .

This position will cover our North Alabama region. Must be a licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech language pathologist with multi-site experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or are impacted by our rehab departments.

  • Mentors and trains new Director of Rehab (DOR’s) to assure consistency of quality rehab services across the region.

  • Assists with staff recruitment/retention..

  • Assists in the interview process and consults with the Vice President of Operations regarding personnel assessments and hiring recommendations.

  • Assists with marketing strategies for the region as deemed by the Vice President.

  • Responsible for providing adequate coverage of therapy services in all facilities in the region.

  • In conjunction with the DOR, assists in the orientation of new staff to Diversicare Therapy Services and facility policies.

  • Identifies program development needs of individual facilities and assists staff in implementation.

  • Develops annual goals and objectives as part of the regional strategic business plan.

  • Assists Vice President in developing annual facility specific budgets.

  • Monitors staff adherence to policies as developed by Diversicare Therapy Services.

  • Generates special reports/data as needed to assist the Vice President in assessing the efficiency of operations.

  • Educates staff regarding Medicare regulations and oversees adherence to all guidelines for optimal reimbursement.

  • Ensures adherence to OBRA and survey compliance for optimal patient care.

  • Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using pre-determined criteria.

  • Develops and implements quality assurance programs in those facilities under his/her direction.

  • Develops collaborative clinical affiliation programs with the principal education institutions in the area.

  • Communicates/interacts with facility personnel to ensure continued satisfaction with delivery of care.

  • Investigates, follows-up and assists in the resolution of staff, service and patient related issues.

  • Identifies the need for departmental supplies and equipment making appropriate recommendations.

  • Attends in-service meetings and facility meetings as required.

  • Provides in-service education to the members of the resident’s care team and education to the community.

  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation and follow-up of resident therapy programs.

  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.

  • Provides treatment in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards.

  • Reports to work on time and coordinates schedule to achieve maximum efficiency.

  • Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the health care professional.

  • Maintains positive relationship and rapport with coworkers, residents, family members and facility personnel.

  • Assists with and participates in Quality Assurance Programs as required.

  • Adheres to established confidentiality standards

  • Projects a positive and professional image at all times.

  • Promotes positive customer relations.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy or Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in a long term care setting.

  • Minimum of three years of mult-site management experience preferred.

  • Current state professional license as an OT, PT, or SLP.

  • We are unable to consider Therapist Assistants for this position .
